Floriography App

A promo app that uses AI to recognize a flower and provides information about its meaning from the perspective of Floriography.

A bouquet of white lilies is more than just a beautiful flower; it’s a symbol of purity and innocence. The yellow daffodil marks a new beginning, while the black rose signifies farewell. These are just a few of the meanings awaiting users of Floriography – a unique app created for Flower AI People in 2024.

The Mystery Hidden in the Petals

The project was born from a passion for floriography – the ancient art of communicating through flowers. During the Victorian era, people used bouquets to convey secret messages. Our client, an Australian artist, wanted to bring this beautiful tradition into the modern digital age.

The challenge was clear: create an app that not only recognizes flowers but also reveals their symbolic meanings, even considering the subtle shades of the petals.

Technological Challenges and the Magic of AI

The main challenge was recognizing not just the type of flower but its color – because a red rose speaks of passion, while a white one represents purity of thought. After testing various systems, we found that OpenAI models performed this task better than any other.

We combined:

  • GlideApps for creating an intuitive, user-friendly interface
  • OpenAI for accurate recognition and interpretation of flowers and their meanings
  • Make.com for seamless automation of processes

From a Photo to a Story

What can users do? Simply snap a photo of a flower and instantly learn its hidden meaning. Describe a person or event, and receive three perfect flowers to express the desired emotions. Users can explore an extensive collection of plants with their symbolic meanings or choose a pre-made bouquet for a special occasion.

The interface was designed to be intuitive, making the ancient art of floriography accessible to everyone.

A Result Beyond Expectations

The app became more than just a flower recognition tool; it became a bridge to a world of symbolic meanings, allowing users to express the unspoken through the language of nature.

For our Australian clients, Floriography unlocked a new audience, eager for art that blends tradition with modern technology.

Now, every bouquet has a story to tell – you just need to know how to read it.
